Rukum, July 30: Two people died and one was injured in a landslide that occurred in Rukum Paschim district today.
Dhan Maya Khatri, 54, of Banfikot Rural Municipality-7, and Kali Bahadur Khadka, 44, from the same place died when the landslide buried them Sunday afternoon.
The duo who were collecting grass at Pokharapari of Bafikot Rural Municipality-7 succumbed to the disaster, police confirmed.
A person from the same locality sustained injury in the incident. The injured person has been identified as 42-year-old Bal Kumari Khatri, according to the District Police Office. DSP Naman Raj Bhattarai shared that the injured woman was taken to the nearest health facility for treatment.
All three were found falling off some 500 metres down the cliff and crushed by the rock, police said.
