Two die, eight injured in truck overturn in Dhading

Dhading : Two persons were killed and eight others injured when a truck skidded off the road and overturned at Nilkantha Municipality-10 in Dhading district on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Indrajeet Pasi, 35, and Saddham Ansari, 25, both from Kapilvastu district, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Shyam Bahadur Khatri. Of the injured, five are reported to be in serious condition.

Two of the seriously injured—Binod Chamar and Tulasi Raj Pasi—were taken to Kathmandu for treatment while others are receiving treatment at Dhading Hospital, said Khatri.

The ill-fated truck (Na 4 Kha 8041) with market stall materials was heading to Tripurasundari Rural Municipality-2 to set up stalls for a fair.

Running bus catches fire in Khotang

A bus carrying passengers caught fire all of a sudden which perished the vehicle and belongings of the passengers. No human casualties were reported, however.

The bus (Ba 3 Kha 8981) heading to Khotang district from Kathmandu with 32 passengers onboard caught the fire after the overheated engine sparked a flame, said the passengers.

As a result, the passengers, most of them heading to their homes for Dashain festival, were stranded midway, said the police. Efforts were on to send the stranded passengers to their destinations in another bus, said Ram Kumar Hingmang, General Secretary for the Khotang Transport Pvt. Ltd.
