Two died, four others injured in Biratnagar fire



Biratnagar, Dec 6:  Two people died and four others were injured when a fire broke out in a scrap warehouse at Satghumti in Biratnagar-7, Morang district, Nepal, at 2:15 today.

According to local police, Dipak Mandal, 40, the scrap warehouse owner, was found dead at the scene of the incident. Likewise, an unidentified person was also found dead.

Likewise, Sushila Paswan, 65, of Biratnagar-6 and Rita Sardar, 60, of the same place were seriously injured. Kishore Paswan, 58, of Biratnagar-6 and Pinki Kamat, 30, of Kathari Rural Municipality were slightly injured.

The fire was brought under control with the help of six firefighters, including those from Biratnagar, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and the local community.

The injured were first admitted at Neuro Hospital and Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar. The police said that the cause of the fire and the details of the damage were not known.

Meanwhile, the critically injured four patients have been airlifted by Nepal Army plane to Kathmandu for further treatment.
