Two killed in separate accidents in Baitadi, two drown in Tinau river

Baitadi, Oct 24: Two people died in separate incidents in Baitadi district. Ram Bahadur Chand, 32, of Patan municipality-5 was found dead 200 meters below a cliff based in Kaddar along the Patan-Melauli road section.

The Baitadi Police said Chand left home on Monday for Kaddar and was found dead the following day. He might have fallen off the cliff, police said.

In a similar incident, Birsingh Bist, 40, of Kuni of Patan municipality-4 died after falling off a cliff. Bista fell down from the Lisangad cliff near his house as he was on the way back to home after observing a festival at the Ninglashaini temple in Dashrath municipality-2.

Severely injured Bista breathed his last while being taken to Dhangadhi for treatment, police said.

Two die after drowning in Rupandehi

Two drowned to death at the confluence of Danab and Tinau rivers while participating in a ceremony to immerse the idol of the Goddess Durga during the Bada Dashain festival.

The deceased have been identified as Ajay Kumar Naun and Ajay Rajbhara of Kotahimai rural municipality-1 in the district, according to Rupandehi Police Chief Superintendent of Police, Bharat Bahadur Bishwakarma.Santa Kumar Rajbhar, 20, of the same locality has gone missing in the river, and search efforts are underway.

The ceremony involving the immersion of the idol of the goddess Durga takes place at the confluence of Danab and Tinau rivers during the Dashain festival. RSS
