KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Standing Committee of the CPN (Maoist Centre) is being held on Monday. The meeting has been convened at the party’s central office in Parisdanda at 1 pm to discuss current political issues as well.
Secretary at the Central Office Shri Ram Dhakal informed that current politics and the party’s future plans will be discussed in the meeting.
According to the Maoist leaders, the meeting will discuss the withdrawal of support given to the KP Oli government and efforts to dwell on the possible power equation for the new government.
After the Supreme Court dissolved the unity process of the Communist Party of Nepal (NCP) and revived the UCPN (Maoist Centre), Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is trying to change the government led by CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.
However, the Maoists have not been able to withdraw support from the government as the formation of a new government has not been formalized. Opposition leaders have been criticizing the Maoist Centre for failing to withdrawing support given to the government of KP Sharma Oli.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has repeatedly challenged the opposition parties, including Nepali Congress and UCPN (Maoist Centre) to remove him after showing majority in the parliament. But, both parties have been waiting from the decision of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP).
A section of JSP leaders, including Chairman Mahantha Thakur and Rajendra Mahato, have been in discussion with KP Sharma Oli while Dr Baburam Bhattarai and Upendra Yadav are trying to form a new government with the alliance of Nepali Congress, UCPN (Maoist Centre) and JSP.
