CPN UML first, Congress second in PR category

Kathmandu: The counting of votes of the election held to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections continues.

In the first-past-the-post category, the Nepali Congress is leading by winning 3 seats of the House of Representatives, while the CPN (UML) is in second place with one seat so far.

According to the Election Commission, Nepali Congress is leading in 35 seats and CPN (UML) in 32.

Also, CPN (Maoist Center is leading in 9, Rastriya Swatantra Party in 8, Rastriya Prajatantra Party in 5 and others have maintained lead in 19 seats.

The Nepali Congress, which is in the first place in FPTP category, is in the second place in the proportional representation (PR) category.

According to the Commission, UML has secured the top position with 42,469 votes followed by Nepali Congress in the second position with 36,372 votes.

Likewise, Rastriya Swatantra Party is in the third place with 17,315 votes while CPN (Maoist Center) is in the fourth place with 15,002 votes.

Furthermore, Rastriya Prajatantra Party has got votes 7,881, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal got 2,098, Janamaat Party got 1,648 votes and Nepal Majdoor Kissan Party got 1,600 votes.

The main opposition, CPN (UML) is also in the top position in proportional representation category of the Provincial Assembly elections.

Accordingly, the UML has got 8,124 votes while Nepali Congress which is in second place has got 7, 411 votes.

The Maoist Center is in third place with 2,678 votes.

Likewise, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party got 2,148 votes, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal got 3,174 votes and others got 3,083 votes.
