KATHMANDU: Lawmaker of main opposition CPN (UML) Bishnu Prasad Poudel criticized the government’s policies and programmes for the next fiscal year 2022/23, saying it was ‘directionless and irrelevant’.
“The newly presented policies and programmes are ‘shallow’ and ‘insignificant’ and do not focus on finding ways to resolve economic crisis,” blamed Poudel.
The leader said so while presenting his view on the government’s policies and programmes in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives.
The policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2022/23 were presented by President Bidya Devi Bhandari in the joint meeting of federal parliament on May 24.
He also accused that the newly presented policies and programmes did not incorporate programmes for industrial areas, discouraging private sector, lacked development management programmes and synergy between fiscal policies and interfering with the affairs of regulators.
The former Finance Minister criticized the incumbent government promoted inflation and failed in addressing the problems in supply chain and looming food crisis in the country.
