KATHMANDU: Chairman of the CPN (UML) KP Sharma Oli has said that the UML would reach out to the people with preparations for securing majority in coming elections.

UML’s win means to build a prosperous country, he said while inaugurating the party 10th national general convention in Chitwan on Friday.

Claiming that party should get single majority votes to prosper the country and safeguard its sovereignty, democracy and constitution, the former Prime Minister urged leaders and cadres of other parties to join the UML.

“A nationwide campaign will be launched in next three months to get leaders and cadres of other parties defected into the UML. The UML is a party which works for the country and people,” he said.

Maintaining that the UML always wanted to develop relations with neighbouring and other countries on the basis of mutual benefits and equality and sovereignty, he claimed that now peace has prevailed in the country as the government led by himself brought groups involved in separatism and violent activities to mainstream politics.

As a result, an environment conducive for foreign investments in the country has been created, he said.

Various leaders from different political parties also addressed the open mass meeting on the occasion.
