UN Resident Coordinator pays courtesy call on PM Deuba

KATHMANDU: UN Resident Coordinator in Nepal, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Thursday afternoon.

Issues as Nepal-UN relations and cooperation were discussed during the courtesy call, said the Foreign Ministry, adding that PM Deuba expressed gratitude to the UN for its commitment to assist Nepal in its fight against COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the UN Office informed that the issues as recommendation on universal periodic review (UPR) on human rights, consolidation of UN, cooperation between Nepal and UN, Nepal’s goal of getting graduated from the status of least developed country, SDGs and strengthening of COVID-19 responses.

Similarly, Acting Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany to Nepal, Stephan Ruskel, paid a courtesy call on PM Deuba. Nepal-German relations, bilateral trade, investment and promotion of cultural relations featured during the meeting.

PM Deuba thanked Germany for its assistance to Nepal in the fight against COVID-19, the Foreign Ministry stated.
