US Ambassador submits credentials to President

Kathmandu: Ambassadors from Finland, the US, and Iceland have presented their credentials to President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

In separate ceremonies held at President’s Office in Shital Niwas on Friday, Ambassador from Finland, Riina Riikka Heikka; Ambassador from the US, Dean Richard Thomson; and Ambassador from Iceland, Guoni Bragason, submitted their letters of credence to the President. Bragason is the non-resident ambassador.

The ceremonies were attended by the high level officials of Nepal government, according to a press release issued by Spokesperson at President’s Office, Sagar Acharya.

Meanwhile, newly appointed US Ambassador to Nepal Mr Thompson paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Foreign Minister Dr Narayan Khadka on Friday. During the meetings, they discussed various issues of mutual interests to further deepening bilateral relations, informs Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal.
