Gandaki, July 18: With the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology forecasting heavy rains in the hilly areas of Gandaki Province Saturday and Sunday, nighttime transport services have been closed in eight districts of Gandaki Province.
According a notice issued by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, vehicular movement during night has been restricted in Kaski, Gorkha, Lamjung, Syangja, Tanahun, Baglung, Parbat, and Myagdi of Gandaki Province.
The Authority has urged the public to stay indoors unless travel is emergency and highly essential.
It has requested all the stakeholders concerned to remain on high-alert and take all possible preventive measures against the increased risk of disasters, including floods and landslides.
Assistant Chief District Officer of Kaski, Chitrangat Baral, told the RSS that nighttime transport services between Kaski and other districts have been totally shut for the two days.
As he said, all the mechanisms in the district are on standby for disaster response. #nepal #rss
