Vice President attends German Unity Day ceremony



Kathmandu, Oct 3: Vice President Ramshahay Prasad Yadav attended the reception hosted by Ambassador of Germany to Nepal Dr Thomas Prinz on Wednesday evening on the occasion of the Germany Unity Day.

Briefly speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Prinz expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and properties in the recent floods and landslides and extended heartfelt sympathy and solidarity with the Nepal government and Nepali people on behalf of the German government and its people.

Earlier, a minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the deceased. The Ambassador further said President Ramchandra Paudel’s state visit to Germany this year has helped further deepen the relations between Germany and Nepal.

He expressed the belief that this relationship between the two countries would be further strengthened in the future.

Also present on the occasion were lawmakers, senior officials of the government, heads and officials of Kathmandu-based diplomatic missions, citizens of Germany, representatives of industries and businesses associated with Germany, senior media persons and eminent personalities of the society.
