Vice President Pun receives anti-COVID-19 vaccine

KATHMANDU: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has vaccinated against deadly coronavirus. He reached Bir Hospital on Tuesday afternoon for the inoculation.

At the request of the Department of Health Services, he was vaccinated against coronavirus, according to the vice President’s secretariat.

The Vice President Pun also urged the people to be vaccinated as soon as possible. The government is conducting a nationwide vaccination campaign against coronavirus.

Previously, people working in emergency services have been vaccinated. At present, senior citizens above 65 years of age are getting vaccinated.

Nepal is conducting vaccination campaign through the Covishield vaccine, produced by Serum Institute of India. At first, Nepal was gifted 1 million doses of Covishield from Government of India. But, Government of Nepal has bought 2 million doses of vaccine from the Serum itself.

Likewise, Nepal has also received nearly 300,000 doses of vaccine from the COVAX initiative.
