Video X-ray machine not in use in Bandipur hospital

Damauli, April 4: Due to lack of human resources in the Bandipur Hospital of the district, the video X-ray machine has been lying unused for a long time.

The machine purchased during the tenure of the previous people’s representatives has not yet been put into operation even after one year has passed since the election of the local level. Bandipur Rural Municipality Chairman Surendra Thapa informed that the X-ray machine has not been used for three to four years, so the beneficiaries have to be deprived of the service.

He said that despite repeated requests for radiographer from the Ministry of Health, arrangements could not be made. “We have planned to start the service from next year”, he said.

The hospital has a capacity of 15 beds. The hospital provides services such as eye, maternity, dental, obstetrics, pharmacy, etc. There are 44 staff including two MBBS doctor, four health assistant, three staff nurse, three lab, two pharmacy, two administration and one X-ray.

Hospital doctor Ashish Adhikari informed that around 70 to 100 patients visit the hospital for treatment every day.

The number of patients with cold, asthma, diabetes, blood pressure, heart, cancer etc. is high in the hospital.
