Voice raised for correction in School Education Bill

Kathmandu, Sept 2: Teachers have raised their voice for correction in the School Education Bill.

Expressing reservation on the bill, the school teachers staged sit-in before the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)’s office at Basundhara, Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Noting that their demands were not incorporated in the bill, the teachers under the leadership of Nepal Teachers’ Federation have been carrying out protest programmes.

The Federation has been putting forth their demands on the issues such as teachers of temporary nature, school employees, child class teachers, promotion of permanent teachers, increment of salary and grade, permanent internal competition, arrangement of retirement, count of temporary service, and salary to be received while obtaining permanent status at higher level.

Likewise, the Federation has also been raising the issues including conflict victim and private school teachers, arrangement of head teacher, teaching council and departmental action.

Receiving the memorandum of the teachers, RSP’s general secretary Kabindra Burlakoti stressed that the government should address the genuine demands of the teachers.#nepal #School Education Bill #rss
