Kathmandu: Chairman of the CPN UML, KP Sharma Oli, has requested for votes for the protection of national interest, sovereignty and five-year- long stable government.

“I want your votes for you and your children’s happiness. I want votes for five-year-long stable government,” Chairperson Oli said in a video message. He reminded that November 20 is the decisive day whether Nepali people want to see the future ruled by Sher Bahadur Deuba or KP Sharma Oli. “Before voting, remember the future of your children,” he urged.

Moreover, Chairperson Oli said, “I don’t tell lies but stick to truth.” He warned that if the ruling alliance is voted, future will be in shambles.

Polls a referendum between progressive, regressive forces: Prachanda

Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has viewed the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and the Province Assembly as a referendum between progressive and regressive forces.

There was a need for the ruling alliance to win the polls for the implementation of rights of deprived social class, geography and indigenous people, said the former Prime Minister. He in a video message urged all voters to exercise their right to vote and make the coalition victorious.

“The responsibility of prospering Nepal through people’s access to education, health and employment opportunities and self-reliant economy has fallen on our shoulder. We do not have the facility of excuses to remain confused,” he said.

Saying there is no possibility to pursue a journey of development, prosperity and justice under the leadership of a regressive force, he stressed the need for a pro-change force to lead the next government for these things done.

“For ending regressive forces and corruption, and pursuing the journey of socialism through a prosperous Nepal, I want to appeal to all voters to vote for candidates from the alliance under the first-past-the-post system and for the Maoist Center (whose election symbol is ‘a hammer and sickle within a circle’) under the proportional representation.”

Madhes issues must be addressed: Thakur

National Chairperson of Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP), Mahantha Thakur, has said he had raised the Madhes issues that were yet to be addressed by the State.

Talking to the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) amidst the election campaign, candidate for the Member of House of Representatives from Mahottari-3, Thakur viewed he was struggling untiringly to ensure citizenship to Madhesi people. “Since the writing and announcement of constitution, Madhes agenda was left unheard, so we continued dissent. Our struggle continues till the agenda is fully addressed,” Thakur reminded.

According to him, although the previous government had tried to address the citizenship problem, the contemptuous party politics failed the efforts. The LSP is for early address to this pressing problem, Thakur underscored.

He asserted that he was sure of his victory. Thakur is supported by other political parties- Nepali Congress, CPN Maoist Centre and CPN (Unified Socialist). RSS
