JANAKPURDHAM, Jan 1 (ET): Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction has registered vote of no confidence against NCP Province-2 Parliamentary Party leader Satya Narayan Mandal on Friday.
According to province lawmaker Shatraughan Mahato, they were preparing to remove Mandal from the post.
The NCP has 32 lawmakers in the province assembly and of them 17 have collected signatures in support of the no-confidence motion against Mandal.
Mahato added that they have submitted vote of no confidence against Mandal to the deputy PP leader Ram Kumar Yadav.
Bagmati State Assembly meeting from January 20
HETAUDA: Today’s meeting of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Bagmati Province has decided to recommend the Province Chief Bishnu Prasad Prasai to convene the seventh meeting of the Provincial Assembly on January 20.
A faction Prachanda-Madhav of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has already registered a no confidence motion against the Chief Minister Dormani Poudel. Likewise, the faction has proposed Ashta Laxmi Shakya as a party’s Parliamentary Party Leader.
If she becomes successful to garner majority in the Provincial Council, she will be the first female candidate to become Chief Minister in the country. However, she needs support from opposition lawmakers.
