We will not let NC deteriorate: Gagan Thapa

Chitwan, Sept. 9: Nepali Congress (NC) General-Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has vowed not to allow NC to further deteriorate.

At a programme organized by the NC Chitwan District Committee to mark the 111th birth anniversary of the late BP Koirala, founder of the NC, in Chitwan on Monday, General-Secretary Thapa said that NC was a ‘house’ to all and thus they will prevent further deterioration within the ‘house’.

Thapa also promised to clean up the dirt in the party.

Stating that his party considered an electoral alliance to secure victory in the previous parliamentary election, Thapa said his party will move ahead with a strategy based on ideological clarity in the upcoming elections.

He saw the need for the party to prioritize spreading the party’s ideologies to every village rather than focusing on winning elections and forming the government.

The General-Secretary highlighted the need to further strengthen the party and make it capable of contesting the elections without considering electoral alliance.

According to him, the party’s central committee realized that the politics of the alliance were not good.

Similarly, NC central committee member and Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel pressed for unity within the party.
He viewed that those representing the party in the incumbent government should deliver after holding consultations with the party ensuring that the government’s works are aligned with the party’s ideologies and strategies.

He pledged to play a role in implementing the health-related plans outlined by General-Secretary Thapa when he assumed the role of Minister for Health and Population.

Also, speaking at the programme, NC central committee members Uma Regmi, Tek Prasad Gurung and Jit Narayan Shrestha opined that everyone should work honestly to further strengthen the party.

The programme presided over by NC Chitwan District Committee President Rajeshwor Khanal featured honouring 174 democratic leaders, with some recognition given posthumously. #nepalicongress #Gagan #rss
