With 2,753 new cases, coronavirus tally reaches 191,636

Kathmandu: The country recorded a total of 2,753 new cases of the coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours.

Of the 10,423 sample tests, altogether 1,676 males and 1,077 females tested positive for the virus, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. With the latest announcement, the total number of infected reached 191,636 in Nepal.

As per the Ministry’s update, the Kathmandu valley witnessed a total of 1,512 new cases including 887 males.

In the past 24 hours, Province 1 witnessed 494 new cases, Province 2 seventy-seven cases and Bagmati Province 1,699 cases.

Likewise, 137 cases were recorded in Gandaki Province, 218 in Lumbini, 25 in Karnali and 103 cases in Sudurpaschim Province in the past 24 hours.

Similarly, there are more than 500 active cases in Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Dang and Rupandehi.

Likewise, Manang and Bajura districts have no active cases of the virus. The Ministry said that the number of active cases in the country reached 35,435.

Of them, 365 are receiving treatment in ICU beds and 76 are in ventilators. 81 per cent recovery rate

According to the Ministry, the recovery rate in the country is 81 per cent. So far, 155,114 persons recovered from the Covid-19 including 2,206 in the past 24 hours.

Likewise, 17 persons succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours. With this, 1,087 persons died due to the coronavirus infection in the country.
