Zero death with 241 new cases of COVID-19

KATHMANDU: No death was reported due to corona virus infection in the last 24 hours. It may be noted that two people had died of the infection on Wednesday.

So far, 11,590 people have died of corona virus infection in Nepal. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, tests performed on 8,897 people in the last 24 hours confirmed the infection in 241 cases.

Presently, the number of active infected people in Nepal has reached 4,871. Another 228 have recovered from the virus. With this, the number of those who have recovered has reached 811,746. The recovery rate is 98 percent, the ministry said.
The districts with more than 500 infections are Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur, while Sunsari, Kaski, Banke and Kailali have reported more than 200 active cases of COVID-19.

Similarly, Solukhumbu, Rasuwa, Manang, Mustang, Humla, Mugu and Bajura districts have zero infection. The infection rate in Nepal is 17.1 percent.

At present, 4,634 people are being treated in home isolation, 237 in institutional isolation, 84 in ICU and 23 with the support of ventilator.

Meanwhile, 56,112 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
