Dhunche (Rasuwa), April 3: Chinese tourists have started entering Nepal through Rasuwagadhi Check Point, the northern border of Nepal. A total of 26 tourists have entered Nepal with the opening of the Rasuwagadhi crossing, which has been closed for three years, this Saturday.
According to Krishna Prasad Paudel, head of Immigration Office Rasuwa, 26 tourists entered Nepal in two days this Saturday and Sunday. Those Chinese tourists have already left for Kathmandu and five Chinese tourists from Nepal also went to Kerung from Miteri bridge on Sunday.
Similarly, security personnel working in the border area say that 106 Nepalis left for Chinese territory from Miteri Bridge on Saturday and Sunday to visit Kerung. The crowd has started to increase at the office in Rasuwa’s Immigration Office to renew the entry permit for Rasuwa residents in previous years so that Nepalese living in the border area can go to Kerung province of China.
Khemraj Khadka, senior immigration assistant of the office, said that about 560 people have already renewed and a large number of people are reaching the Immigration Office daily for renewal. It is said that only drivers who drive cargo vehicles and residents of Rasuwa who have a permanent identity card with renewal can enter Kerung.
Antigen test report is mandatory for visiting Kerung. In addition, 364 people have been tested for agetigen through healthdex in the border area, accepting the request made by the Chinese authorities in the border area. Three people who tested positive have been sent to home isolation.
