90 Nepali nationals deported from USA arrived in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Jan 21: A total of 90 Nepali nationals have been deported from the United States, according to the Department of Immigration. However, the Department has not revealed the names of these people.

Director General of the Department, Ram Chandra Tiwari, informed that the deportees arrived in Kathmandu on a chartered flight. He added that more than 400 Nepali citizens have so far been deported from the United States in a period of nearly one year.

According to the Department, those deported include individuals who lacked valid documentation to reside or work in the United States, as well as those found in violation of U.S. immigration laws.

The Nepal Police Bureau of Anti-Human Trafficking has initiated investigations into the cases of the deported individuals. The Bureau has requested the returnees to lodge complaints if they were victims of human trafficking.

Following the completion of necessary investigations, the deported individuals will be handed over to their respective families, the Bureau said. #nepal #USA #deportation
