SURKHET: Nepali Congress youth leader Gagan Thapa has said that the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) was divided due to the arrogance of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Leader Thapa, speaking at a program of Nepal Magar Sangh Karnali Pradesh, said that even in the current situation, Oli was trying to show arrogance.

“Prime Minister Oli dissolved the parliament because of his arrogance. The court did justice,” Thapa said. “But the prime minister did not resign. Now he thinks that I will make this parliament useless.”

Thapa said that Oli was planning to make the House of Representatives unable to function without giving the business to the parliament on behalf of the government.

“After the parliament decides that it will not work, Oli will choose two options,” he said. “The first is to form a government under his own leadership with the Madhesi party or try to dissolve the House again.”

He said that now the responsibility of handling the situation of the country has fallen on the shoulders of the Nepali Congress.

“The NCP came with a full majority in the last election. Nepali Congress was ready to sit in the opposition for five years. But the NCP has already divided. In such case, Nepali Congress have to take responsibility of leading the government and hold fair election,” Thapa said.

He said that the Nepali Congress-led government would hold the election in a fearless environment.

Aiming at the Nepali Congress General Convention, Thapa said, “The time has come for us to correct ourselves. The General Convention is also approaching,” he said.

He said that the Nepali Congress will go to the people with a resolution of prosperity including prosperous citizens in the upcoming election.
