Army deployed in Sunsari after curfew violated amid deadly clashes

Inaruwa, July 27: The Nepal Army has been deployed in Dewangunj-3, Kaptangunj, Sunsari, after protesters defied a curfew order imposed by the local administration following violent clashes.

According to Chief District Officer Basu Dev Ghimire, the army was mobilized alongside the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force after demonstrators resorted to arson and vandalism, escalating tensions in the area.

Ghimire said a meeting involving all concerned stakeholders is underway to discuss measures to restore peace and security.
