Australian Embassy supports Blind Cricket Association Nepal



Kathmandu, Feb 27: The Australian Embassy to Nepal has supported Cricket Association of the Blind, Nepal with NRs. 777,500 to run a 20 days long close camp of the Nepalese national blind women cricket team participating in 2nd T20 bilateral blind women cricket series between Nepal and India slated to be commenced from 25th-30th of April, 2023 in Nepal.

CAB will be conducting the close camp of the final 15 players from 5th of April at Pokhara in the coaching of Mr. Rijan Prazoo.

According to the agreement between CAB and the Australian Embassy, the financial assistance covers the cost of lodging and food, practice uniforms, fees of coach and the physio-therapist and two way travel of the players from their respective locations.

The first two matches will be at Bokhara on 25th-26th April, while the remaining three matches will be played at T.U cricket ground on 28th-30th April, 2023.

CAB is the founder of the blind women cricket in the world and this the 2nd time they are hosting international series in Nepal. Previously it has hosted an international match against U.K back in the year 2014 and participated in 1st bilateral series against Pakistan in Pakistan in the year 2019.

Nepal had won both the series.

According to Aus Embassy, CAB had received Australian Sports outreach grants and is now also implementing Direct Aid project of Australian Government to prepare an inclusive sports coaching guide and conduct inclusive sports activities as well.

We appeal all the friends from media to give a special coverage to the international event of the visually impaired girls to mainstream their involvement in sports.
