DHANGADHI: Leader Bir Bahadur Balayar has won the Nepali Congress Sudurpashchim Province President defeating Narayan Dutta Mishra.
Mr Balayar was close to party President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba while Senior Leader Ram Chandra Poudel was supporting the candidacy of Mishra.
Balayar secured 688 votes while Mishra got 280 votes.
Likewise, Balayar panel have won all the other provincial party officials. It shows the strength of Deuba in Sudurpashchim province.
Karnali provice: Deuba panel won the election
In Karnali province, Deuba affiliated candidate has won the president. According to NC election office, Lalit Jung Shahi has won the party’s Karnali provice President. He secured 422 votes.
Three candidates were contesting for the post of party president. Bhupendra Jung Shahi, who was close to leader Ram Chandra Poudel, garnered 317 votes. Another candidate, close of leader Bimalendra Nidhi, Mr Moti Raj Bam has received only 7 votes.
