Dhangadhi, Oct 3: Pfizer vaccine against coronavirus is being administered to citizens of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city in Kailali district from today.
According to Chief of Health Section of the sub-metropolitan city, Yogesh Awasthi, the sub-metropolis has been launching the vaccination against coronavirus as a campaign in its all wards.
In the campaign, the vaccine would be administered to the people above 12 years, those who have not yet been vaccinated against coronavirus and to those who received the vaccine at least one year ago.
“Though there is no coronavirus infection, there may be risk due to its new variant,” added Awasthi.
The campaign would be run for three days. The vaccination campaign is launched at local levels of Kailali, Bajhang and Dadeldhura of Sudurpaschim Province, according to Province Health Directorate.
Contact Person of the Immunization Programme of the Directorate, Minraj Joshi, said 109,000 doses of vaccine have been received to run the campaign in all nine districts of the province.
Antigen test of coronavirus is being conducted through health desk on the people entering Nepal through Indian bordering points–Gauriphanta, Gaddachauki, Jhulaghat and Poolghat, shared Joshi.
