Chiefs of security agencies discuss election security

KATHMANDU: A discussion was held among chiefs of security agencies and other concerned officials regarding security arrangement in the upcoming May 13 local level election.

In attendance in the meeting held at the Nepali Army Headquarters on Sunday were Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma, IGP of Nepal Police Shailesh Thapa, IGP of Armed Police Force Pushpa Ram KC and Chief Investigation Director at the National Investigation Department Yadulal Kharel.

During the meeting, presentation was made on the progress made by the Nepali Army in terms of security arrangement in elections of Nepal and coordination with other security agencies, according to the Nepali Army.

The meeting also dwelt on forging collaboration and coordination among the security agencies in the country to hold election in a free, fair and credible environment.
