Kathmandu, Aug 9: Two inmates, Akash Balami and Binod Tolangi, died in a clash at Sankhuwasabha Jail on Wednesday.
They were injured in a clash inside the prison this morning. Assistant Chief District Officer Mohanmani Ghimire informed that they died while being taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to Ghimire, at around 2 o’clock this morning, they came out with the intention of cutting the toilet rod and escape. When the police on duty saw them, they were arrested and kept in jail again.
Around 5 o’clock in the morning there was commotion in the prison. After that, the team including the jailer reached there and found two people seriously injured. Ghimire said, “They died while being taken to the hospital.”
Local administration has begun investigation on the issue.
