Kathmandu, July 17: The Confederation of Nepalese Teachers (CNT) has expressed its protest to certain words used in the promotional song of the Nepali film ‘Masterni’.
The movie will be on show in theatres from August 21.
The federation has urged to correct the lyrics, claiming the words used in the song are disrespectful towards teachers.
Issuing a press release today, CNT president Laxmikishor Subedi and general secretary Tula Bahadur Thapa stated that the song, which used ‘defamatory and insulting’ words and expressions about female teachers, is a serious attack on the dignity of teachers and the teaching profession.
The teachers’ confederation claims that the recently released song contains indecent words and sentiments targeted at women teachers, and has urged the film producers to immediately stop the song and not use it in the movie. #nepal #rss
