Dhading, May 2: An elderly couple died when a house caught fire in Ghatekhola in Purandanda, Thackre Rural Municipality-5 of Dhading district.
Dhading police informed that 70-year-old Tej Bahadur Lama and his 70-year-old wife Thuli Lama died in a fire at their house last night. All the food and clothes in the house have also been destroyed.
“At around 11:30 at night, we got the news that the house was on fire. By the time the teams of Hapsechour Temporary Police Station and Area Police Office Khanikhola reached the spot, they were already dead,” said local police.
Houses caught fire in Gorkha
Meanwhile, two houses and four sheds have been burnt down in Gorkha. The houses of local residents Parvati Rana and Rupa Rana were burnt when they reached the burnt settlement in the forest near their house in Gorkha municipality-5.
Meanwhile, Nepal Red Cross Society Gorkha has provided relief materials to the victims of the fire in Bolurip. Subas Ghimir, head of the branch’s office, said that emergency assistance was provided to the families whose houses and sheds were damaged by the fire.
