Kathmandu, May 7: The final rites of communist leader and former minister Pradip Nepal were performed at electric crematorium in Pashupati Aryaghat on Tuesday evening.
Suffering from Parkinson’s disease for some years, leader Nepal breathed his last at Norvic Hospital in Kathmandu Tuesday afternoon. He was 72.
Earlier, CPN (UML) Vice-Chairman and Deputy Prime Minister Bishnu Paudel, UML Senior Vice-Chairman Ishwar Pokhrel, leaders Surendra Prasad Pandey, Shankar Pokhrel, former Prime Minister and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, politicians CP Mainali, Bamdev Gautam and other leaders reached Pashupati to extend their heartfelt condolences to the deceased leader Nepal.
Different leaders and politicians have shared their memories of leader Nepal stating that he was a warrior of Jhapa struggle and a dedicated party builder.
Leader Bamdev Gautam said Nepal was a successful leader and warrior of the communist movement.
Likewise, CPN (UML) leader Dr Rajan Bhattarai said that leader Nepal was an ideologically clear and proactive politician while terming the late leader as a multidimensional personality.
PM Oli expresses grief over demise of leader Nepal
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed grief over the demise of CPN (UML) leader and former minister Pradeep Nepal.
Paying emotional tributes to leader Nepal through his social media account, Prime Minister Oli has extended deep condolences to the bereaved family.
Stating that leader Nepal played an important role in the formation of the CPN (UML), the Prime Minister has described him as a strong leader of the Nepali communist movement, who made a separate identity as Sanjay Thapa in literature.
Prime Minister Oli said that Pradeep Nepal and his contribution will always be remembered.
