Mugu, Oct 30: Five foreign climbers, four Austrian nationals and a German national, successfully climbed Mt Koiki for the first.
Located at Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality-2 in Mugu district, the peak is 6,169 metres tall from the sea level.
They climbers reached the top of the mountain on October 20, according to the Region Trek Company, the manager of the expedition team.
The climbers include Erwin Paul Weissmann, Valentin Mak, Sandro Franz Kanduth, Gregor pribernig of Austria and German citizen Stefan Lib Lind.
With the successful expedition to Mt Koiki, the people here are elated and are hopeful of receiving expedition teams and tourists alike.
Karma Tamang, former chairman of Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality-2, said that new avenues for tourism potential have been emerged with this expedition and added that the government and stakeholders should pay attention for the publicity.
Climber Sandro, 28, of Austria shared his experiences stating that expedition to Mt Koiki was special. “This mountain is clean and appeasing,” climaber Sandro shared.
“There is no waste, and the air is refreshing. I witnessed this sort of natural freshness for the first time,” he added. The expedition was arranged by Austria’s Trial Angels Company, it is said. #nepal #rss
