Former Koshi Minister’s remand extended by seven days



Kathmandu, Nov 12: The Kathmandu District Court has granted police seven more days to keep former Minister of Koshi Province Lilaballabh Adhikari in custody for investigation.

District Police Range Kathmandu is investigating Adhikari’s alleged involvement with a gang that illegally sent Nepali citizens to Japan.

Superintendent of Police Nawaraj Adhikari, the spokesman of the Range, said that the former Minister of Internal Affairs and Law of Koshi Province, Adhikari, was presented in the Kathmandu District Court today, and the court granted seven more days to keep him in custody for further investigation.

Adhikari was arrested in Biratnagar and brought to Kathmandu on Sunday.

Five others have also been arrested in relation to the case, that came to light after Adhikari was deported back to Nepal from an airport in Japan.
