Kathmandu, July 6: At least four Nepalis have been strangled to death in Meghalaya Sutanga, Jaintia Hills, India.
All four mutilated youth were working in the coal mine. They are said to be from Bhojpur, Dharan and Ilam.
According to the Indian representative of News Agency Nepal (NAN), the incident took place 130 km away from Silong, the capital of Meghalaya.
According to local NorthEastNews, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been assembled by local authorities in East Jaintia Hills (EJH) following the shocking discovery of four dead bodies behind Umpleng market on Saturday.
Police informed that one of the deceased has been identified as Ravi Rai, 23, from Ilam.
The bodies have been transferred to Civil Hospital, Khliehriat, where post-mortem examinations will be conducted.
Earlier in the day, the bodies, discovered by workers in the area, were found with their hands tied with signs of multiple cut injuries, indicating a brutal and likely premeditated attack.
