Fourth consecutive honor to IME in remittance business



KATHMANDU, Nov 22: The International Money Express (IME) has been named as the company that pays the most income tax towards remittance business. The IME is the first company in the remittance sector to be included in the list as the Inland Revenue Department honored the 15 highest taxpayers on the occasion of Tax Day.

This is the fourth consecutive honor to IME as the highest income tax payer among the remittance business companies.

IME, which was established twenty years ago with the objective of bringing remittances to Nepal through the banking network, is credited with institutionalizing Nepal’s overall remittance business.

IME is Nepal’s leading institution to inflow remittances from abroad into Nepal through banking channels.

Since its inception, the company has been committed to making the remittance service accessible to every Nepali, the company said in a statement.

In the 20th year of its launch, the company has spread to 77 districts through 12,000 sub-agents and 22 branches of banks and financial institutions. The company has claimed that it’s services are fast, reliable and safe.
