Gandaki Chief Minister Adhikari expands cabinet



Pokhara: Gandaki Province Chief Minister Khagaraj Adhikari has expanded his cabinet after consulting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

He has included three more ministers and divided the duties of previously appointed ministers. The Gandaki Province has decided to slash the number of ministries from 12 to 7.

Chief Minister Adhikari appointed Roshan Bahadur Gaha from CPN (UML) as Minister of Internal Affairs and Law, and Bed Bahadur Gurung as Minister of Agriculture, Energy and Water Resources. Similarly, Resham Bahadur Jugjali of CPN (Maoist Centre) has received the responsibility of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment.

Likewise, Maoist’s Hari Bahadur Chuman, who was previously appointed as a minister without portfolio, has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Physical, Infrastructure Development and Transport.

Similarly, Sita Kumari Sundas of CPN (UML) has been appointed as Minister of Economic Affairs and Pancharam Gurung of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has been appointed as Minister of Social Development and Health. The newly appointed ministers took the oath of office and secrecy before the provincial chief Prithviman Gurung this evening.

Adhikari was appointed as the Chief Minister of Gandaki on Poush 25, 2079 BS.
