Kathmandu, June 8: Global IME Bank Limited and Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket & Departmental Store, one of the largest super store operating in Nepal, have signed an agreement to provide customers with a 0% interest, on-the-fly EMI facility when purchasing goods from all Bhat-Bhateni outlets.
The collaboration aims to promote digital payments and offer modern financial services to customers.
Under the agreement, Global IME Bank credit card users can convert purchases of Rs 15,000 or more into instant installment plans without any additional paperwork. Customers will be able to choose repayment periods of 3, 6, 9, 12, or 18 months. The facility will not include any interest or processing fees.
The scheme is expected to ease financial pressure on customers, especially those purchasing electronics and other high-value items, by allowing structured repayment options.
As part of the partnership, customers with regular purchasing history at Bhat-Bhateni will also be eligible for a special Global BBSM Club credit card. Based on their transaction history and financial behavior over the fiscal year or the past three months, customers may receive credit limits ranging from Rs 150,000 to Rs 300,000.
Initially, the card will be usable within BBSM and its network, but it is expected to expand to broader usage in the future.
The card will also provide additional benefits such as easier payments, exclusive offers, discounts, and customer-focused promotional schemes.
Both institutions stated that the partnership aims to expand digital payment adoption and enhance customer convenience through modern financial solutions. They also plan to introduce joint promotions including discounts, cashback, and reward programs in the future.
