Goods worth Rs 79.54 billion exported via Birgunj



Birgunj, April 23: Goods and commodities worth Rs 79.54 billion have been exported to foreign countries through the Birgunj customs point, one of the Nepal’s largest trading point, during the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2082/83 BS.

According to the Birgunj Customs Office, exports during this period increased by Rs 10.19 billion, or 15 percent, compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year. Last year, goods worth Rs 69.35 billion had been exported.

It stated that exports through this checkpoint have risen by 15 percent in the current fiscal year. During the nine-month period, refined soybean oil worth Rs 43.61 billion was exported via this point, compared to Rs 36.62 billion in the same period last year.

Similarly, fruit juice worth Rs 5.84 billion was exported in nine months, compared to Rs 5.77 billion during the same period last year.

Likewise, refined palm oil exports reached Rs 5.24 billion, whereas it was only Rs 590 million during the same period last year. Refined sunflower oil exports stood at Rs 5.05 billion, compared to Rs 6.61 billion in the corresponding period last year.

Various types of garments worth Rs 2.69 billion were exported. Additionally, synthetic yarn worth Rs 1.94 billion was exported, according to the Birgunj Customs Office. #nepal #custom
