KATHMANDU: The government has dissolved the Land Problem Resolution Commission. A cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to dissolve the Commission, a minister said.

The commission was formed by the KP Sharma Oli-led government. The cabinet meeting has rejected the nationwide structure of the commission as well.

The Oli government had formed a Commission under the Chairmanship of Devi Prasad Gyawali to distribute land to landless squatters and unorganized settlers.

Nepali Congress and other major parties had previously opposed the formation of the Commission, which was politically motivated and one-sided.
