Government’s works will be accelerated after expansion of cabinet: PM Dahal

Kathmandu, March 31: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ assured to deliver in a record-setting way in the history of Nepal once his government gets a full shape.

Addressing the 5th national conference of the National Employees Organization of Nepal (NEON) here today, PM Dahal said that his government had sprung into action towards good-governance and prosperity and assured to give it impetus in coming days.

“Government works will be accelerated after the expansion of the cabinet today. I am trying to deliver in such a way that we all will take pride in later on. In this stint as the Prime Minister, I will work on some mega projects and take decisions that the whole nation will take pride in,” vowed Dahal, who assumed the role of the Head of the Government for the third time on December 25, 2022.

Stating that the employees subscribing to the leftist ideologies should be more honest, diligent and hard-working, the PM urged the employees to be more competitive for that.

He argued that employees were the ones who instill the presence of good-governance among public and appealed to them to discharge their duties honestly.

In the context when relevance of employees’ trade unions was being questioned, the PM said that he was in favor of the trade union in recognition of the roles played by employees in political changes.

He spoke of the need to put an end to anomalies and anarchy in the bureaucracy, calling for quality service delivery to the public.

The PM urged the selection of the leadership through an election if not through a consensus. “Pass policies, plans and programmes and pick a leadership through a consensus. Favouritism in the leadership does not benefit. It does not matter if a healthy competition takes place. It seems good to choose the leadership through a democratic process,” he said.

Similarly, Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Aman Lal Modi said the Federal Civil Service Bill got a final touch with much efforts and labour by keeping in account views of the stakeholders.

The Bill has been sent to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, he said.

CPN (Maoist Centre) Vice Chairperson Pampha Bhusal urged civil servants to work for the people with dedication and discipline. RSS
