Kathmandu, March 20: The Council of Ministers today has decided to promote five Deputy Inspector General (DIGs) of Nepal Police to Additional Inspector General (AIG).
The promotion recommendation committee led by the Home Secretary had on March 10 recommended five DIGs for promotion to AIG according to Rule 27 (4) of the Police Regulations 2071 B.S. Home Secretary Binod Prakash Singh shared that the decision to promote the five DIGs has been made by the Council of Ministers and the appointment letters will be issued today itself.
Accordingly, Chief of Madhes Police Office DIG Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, Chief of Lumbini Police Office DIG Tek Prasad Rai, Chief of Bagmati Police Office DIG Deepak Thapa, Chief of Koshi Police Office DIG Shyamalal Gyawali and Director of Financial Administration and Management, Police Headquarters, DIG Kiran Bajracharya were promoted to the post of AIG.
As Inspector General (IG) of Nepal Police Dheeraj Pratap Singh will be retiring on March 25, one of the AIGs promoted today will be appointed as the next IG by the government.
