Govt forms 3-member commission to investigate Air Dynasty’s chopper crash



Kathmandu, Aug 7: The government has formed a three-member probe commission to investigate the Air Dynasty’s chopper crash.

An emergency Cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Wednesday formed the probe commission under the coordination of senior pilot of the Nepali Army, Subas Thapa, said Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung.

Aeronautical engineer Bishnu Basnet and Under-Secretary (Technical) of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Tanuja Pokharel are the members. The commission has been asked to submit the report within 30 days.

Extending tribute to the deceased ones in helicopter crash, the government expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.

Minister Gurung mentioned that tribute was paid to all those killed in the incident.

Five passengers including the pilot, Arun Malla, were killed when the helicopter with a call sign 9 N-AJD met with an accident at Shivapuri rural municipality-7 on Wednesday afternoon. The chopper had flown from Nalinchowk of Bhaktapur district for Syaphrubeshi of Rasuwa district.

Chinese nationals killed in chopper crash are Tang Jutao, Wu Yiyao, Li Jie and Xie Zeming.

All the bodies of helicopter crash victims have been kept at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, for postmortem, shared Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal. RSS #Nepal
