Govt forms probe committee to investigate the Sarlahi incident



Kathmandu, Jan 6: The Ministry of Home Affairs has formed a probe committee to investigate the incident of human casualties during the demonstration in Sarlahi’s Barathawa municipality.

Spokesman Narayan Prasad Bhattarai at the ministry informed that a three-member committee has been formed under the coordination of Thaneshwar Gautam, joint secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, to investigate the facts regarding the incident and submit a report within seven days.

Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police Surendra Mainali and National Investigation Department Director Bhim Bahadur Budhathoki have been members of the committee.

A 30-year-old Jaishankar Sah of Ward No. 5 of Barhathwa Municipality died during a protest on the issue of whether or not to upgrade Primary Health Center Barhathwa in Sarlahi on Poush 20, 2080 BS. #Nepal
