Kathmandu, Oct 24: Minister for Health and Population, Pradeep Paudel, has sought suggestions from experts to resolve the problems facing health insurance.
Minister Paudel reminded that the main objective of the ministry was to improve health insurance so that general public’s access to health would be ensured conveniently.
He said it while discussing with a committee led by Shambhu Prasad Acharya, a former senior official of the World Health Organization that is to furnish suggestions on insurance reforms.
He urged the experts for practical and concrete suggestions to which the government would pay heed. Paudel however admitted lack of resources as the main problem.
The Health Minister was for receiving viable measures to increase resources and make effective the insurance scheme.
“I’m effortful to expand insurance amount from Rs 100,000 to Rs 500,000,” he reminded.
In the meeting, expert Acharya and member Dr Bhagwan Koirala informed that they were working to provide concrete suggestions with adequate study. #insurance #nepal #health
