Kathmandu, April 11: Judge Bhuwan Giri has been arrested by the police from Samakhusi in Kathmandu. The police arrested Giri on Tuesday based on the complaint filed by his younger wife on the charge of rape.
According to the complaint filed with the Kapilbastu police, the Kapilbastu District Court gave permission for his arrest. Giri, who is currently working in the Judicial Council, was arrested on the basis of that complaint.
According to Dan Bahadur Karki, Chief of District Police Complex Kathmandu, Judge Giri was arrested from Pabitra Nagar in Samakhusi, Kathmandu. Giri is kept in Teku.
“He was arrested and kept here. His case is in Kapilbastu. He will be taken to Kapilbastu tomorrow,” said SSP Dan Bahadur Karki, chief of police complex Kathmandu.
On the other hand, Banke District Court has issued an arrest warrant against the wife on the complaint of stealing government documents. His wife Aarti Rawal has not been arrested yet.
