Kathmandu, March 20: Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has said Madheshi Commission should play crucial role in the social, educational, economic, political and cultural transformation of the Madheshi community.
At a programme organized on Wednesday on the fifth anniversary of the Commission, the Vice President said the Commission should work in a proactive manner as per the aspirations of Madheshi people for the history and identity of Madheshi people, protection of their rights, promotion and empowerment.
Vice President Yadav also suggested that the Commission should revise and uplift its activities by reviewing its past performance and activities.
Yadav was of the view that the Commission should run awareness raising and empowerment programmes along with documenting the history of Madheshi people and achievements of the Madhesh revolt.
On the occasion, Vice President Yadav also said that some laws that contradict with the jurisdiction of constitutional commissions should be amended and added that the documents of Madheshi Commission should be centered on the entire nation and Madheshi community instead of particular parties and individuals. #Nepal
