Kathmandu, Dec 17: The ACC Under-19 Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024 match between India and Nepal at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia has been abandoned due to heavy rain. However, both teams get a point each and qualify for the knockouts.
In the league stage, both Nepal and India beat Pakistan. India crushed Pakistan by nine wickets while Nepal pulled off a gutsy six-wicket victory.
In today’s match, after winning the toss, India invited Nepali team to bat first. In the low scoring game, Nepal scored 94 runs losing 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. For Nepal, captain Puja Mahato top scored with 25 runs before being run out. Likewise, Alisha Kumari Yadav scored 20 runs while all other batters couldn’t add runs in double digits.
In reply, Indian batters showed strong confidence but rain played it’s part. India scored 28 runs without losing wickets in just 3.1 overs. G Trisha scored 17 runs and she hit 3 fours while G Kamilini (wk) scored 8 runs, and she hit 1 six as well. Then the rain stopped the game, and both teams earned 1 point each.
Nepal will face Sri Lanka on December 19 (Thursday) at Bayuemas Cricket Oval, Kuala Lumpur.
