Birtamod, Jan 19: The district of Jhapa has recently detected cases of measles in two local bodies out of a total of fifteen.
According to Raj Kumar Pokharel, the Immunization Officer at the District Health Office, Jhapa, the two affected local bodies are Jhapa Rural Municipality and Birtamod Municipality.
This news comes after a total of seven cases were reported in just two weeks, with six in Jhapa Rural Municipality and one in Birtamod Municipality. In fact, a blood test conducted at Sharanamati Health Post revealed that three members of one family were infected with the highly contagious disease.
Additionally, a five-year-old girl from Birtamod-3 was also diagnosed with measles after undergoing a blood test. The seriousness of the situation is emphasized by the fact that the girl was found to be infected at such a young age. #Nepal
