The very identity of Pokhara is its mountains. It feels as though the mountains themselves call you, draw you in softly, and once you arrive, they cast a spell you can never quite escape. No wonder travelers from every corner of the world refuse to return home without experiencing Pokhara’s embrace.
What does Pokhara not have? Snow-crowned peaks, emerald hills, shimmering lakes, and a culture that radiates warmth. Yet above all, it is the mountains that speak the loudest, silently shaping the city’s soul.

This photograph captures that very magic. The glowing peak you see is Annapurna. And beside it, timeless and dignified, rises Machhapuchhre — the mountain that has become synonymous with Pokhara itself. Whatever you photograph here — a boat gliding across Phewa Lake, a temple corner, or a quiet street — the mountains gently appear in the background, blessing every frame with their silent grandeur. And in this season, when the skies clear and the mountains reveal themselves completely, even the simplest object beneath their snowy crowns becomes extraordinary.
One glance at this picture, and the heart can’t help but whisper again — Oh, Pokhara…
